"The journey of the man who would become known as Abraham is a paradigm of all authentic faith. His is a movement into obscurity, into the undefined, into ambiguity, and not into some predetermined, clearly delineated plan for the future. Each future determination, each next step discloses itself only out of a discernment of the influence of God in the present moment."
"By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going"
Hebrews 11:8
After 2800 miles of driving, I have made it to the west coast! We took 7 days to make the journey from East Tennessee to California. I am blown away by the beauty of this country. Two highlights of the trip were visiting the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park. As I stood before the Grand Canyon, gazing out at this massive landscape, I was in complete awe of how big God is. We truly serve a mighty God!
I am currently staying with family in Los Osos, a town on the central coast of California. My goal is to be moved down to Southern California within the next week or so. I am still seeking the Lord and working out details for the exact location where I will be living and serving. I have several amazing opportunities, the next step is just figuring out which one is the one that the Lord wants! I have no desire to rush the process but I am full of anticipation and excitement due to the direction and words God has given me in recent months.
This season of my life has involved making many Abraham-like faith decisions! It is very exciting and a bit scary at times to be honest. The quote underneath the above picture is a very accurate description of my life over the past year. I have found that my heart is most alive when I am making moves completely based on God's present influence in my life. I am so thankful that we serve a risen Christ who promises to be with us forever. I am even more thankful that this promise is not just words in a book, but it is an absolute reality. I truly believe that God is using these steps of faith to write a story with my life that is beyond my wildest imagination!
I ask that you partner with me in prayer over this next week for guidance and wisdom as I plan to transition to Southern California. I hope to have a clear direction by this weekend, but I also know that my time frame is not always on track with God's. Thank you for all of your prayers and I look forward to sharing my next step with you very soon!
